Privacy statement

What we collect

Account data: first name, email address, gender, who you are looking for, age, and your password (stored only as a secure hash).
Profile data you choose to add: photos, "About me" text, country, nationality, languages, appearance, lifestyle and similar details. Some of these (such as religion or ethnicity) are sensitive; they are always optional.
Identity verification (optional): if you ask to be verified, you send photos of an official ID (national ID card, passport or driver's license) and a selfie holding it. We use them only to confirm your identity and that you are 18 or older. They are encrypted as soon as they reach us, are seen only by our review team, are never shown on your profile, and are permanently deleted as soon as the review is done. We keep only the result, the document type and the date. You may cover your document number.
Activity: messages, photos and voice messages you send, favorites, blocks, reports, which profiles you visit and when you were last active.
Relationships: relationship requests and their answers, when a relationship started and ended, and who ended it. They are kept as a record and deleted with your account.
Our Journey and success stories (optional): the milestones, memories, steps and photos you add to Our Journey, and the stories you write or approve, with a record of who agreed to which version. Photos are encrypted and their location and camera details are removed. Our Journey is deleted 30 days after a relationship ends; when a story is withdrawn, its text and photos are deleted at once.
Ludo games (optional): the games you play and their results, the messages and emoji you send in games, and technical events such as a voice connection that failed. Voice is encrypted between the players' browsers and is never recorded. Game messages are deleted 30 days after the game, unless the game was reported; technical events after 90 days.
Game coins and invitations: your coin balance, level and experience, the skins you own and use, a history of the coins you received and spent, your invitation code and the members who joined with it. To prevent abuse, when someone joins with your invitation we compare the network address they registered from with yours; it is never shown to other members. All of this is deleted with your account.
Support requests: when you contact us, we keep your name, email address, your messages and any file you attach, with our replies, so we can help you. They are deleted with your account.
Technical data: the IP address used to register and to attempt logins (for security and spam prevention).

Who can see it

Other logged-in members can see your profile, photos, approximate "last seen" time, and that you visited their profile or added them to your favorites.
Photos you hide stay in your account but are not shown or accessible to other members. Our moderation team can still see them when reviewing a report or a verification.
Details you hide in Settings → Privacy (such as religion or children) are not shown to members, cannot be used to find you in search, and are not used to calculate match scores.
If you turn off "Show my profile in search", you don't appear in search or suggestions, and only members you have exchanged messages with can open your profile.
Match scores are calculated from the profile details and partner preferences both members have shared. Your partner preferences are shown on your profile so others can tell whether they fit.
Only you and the recipient can see your private messages, with two exceptions to keep members safe:
- Automatic word filter: your name, your "About me" text and your messages are checked automatically against a list of words and phrases that break our rules (for example requests for money, scam payment services or explicit content). A message that matches is never delivered, and some profile texts are not saved; in both cases you are told which rule applies and how to fix your text. When a text matches, that text alone (not your conversation) is shown to our moderation team, who decide whether it really breaks a rule.
- Reports: if one of you reports the other, a member of our moderation team may read the messages between the two of you to check the report. Each time this happens it is recorded.
Rule violations confirmed by our team are recorded on your account. You are told about each one, can see them on your account status page, and can ask for a review. After more than 4 confirmed violations an account is frozen (no chat, hidden from members) until our team reviews it.
In a relationship, members who open your profile see the "In a Relationship" badge, and your partner's name only if you both allow it. Our Journey is seen only by the two of you; our team opens it only to handle a request or a safety issue, and each time is recorded.
A success story is public only after you both approved it and our team reviewed it, and shows only what you chose. Anyone can read it, including visitors who are not logged in, until either of you withdraws it.
In a Ludo game, the other players see your first name, photo and messages (team messages only reach your team). While you are on the game page and accept invitations, compatible members may see you as a suggested player. Our team reads a game's messages only to handle a report about that game, and each time is recorded.
When you report a member, they are never told who reported them or what you wrote.
Your email address and password are never shown to other members.

Why we use it

To run the dating service (showing profiles, matching, messaging), to keep members safe (reviewing reports, preventing spam and abuse) and to send you emails you request, such as password resets.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. Emails are sent through our email provider. Pages load icons and small scripts from public content networks (cdnjs, jsDelivr), which receive your IP address when your browser downloads them. We may disclose data if required by law.

Cookies

We use cookies that the site needs to work, such as the one that keeps you logged in and the one that remembers your language. Optional cookies for measurement or marketing are only used if you agree. The full list, and how to change your choice at any time, is in our Cookie policy.

Your rights

You can view and edit your data in Edit Profile, and deactivate or delete your account in Settings. When you delete it, your account is hidden immediately and all associated data is permanently erased after 30 days (you can restore it by logging in before then).
